Sires who have influence in commercial herd
The current herd of commercial Limousins has been developed over many years from a Poll Hereford and Shorthorn base using only Limousin stud sires from the renowned Longreach Limousin stud herd, dispersed in June 2018.
Longreach Grandiose is natural son of Donna Valley Poll Rachel by Froghollow X-man. A standout from birth, he went on to develop deep fleshing and evident strength of spine combined with remarkable mobility for his weight and moderate frame. A versatile sire with his low birth weight and growth, he is now employed in our stud. His show career has been notable. As a youngster in 2012 he was Junior Champion at Canberra Royal and in 2013 he was Supreme Limousin Exhibit and Champion of Champions at Canberra Royal, followed by Reserve Senior Champion Limousin at Sydney Royal. We eagerly await the birth of his first calves.
Longreach Hip-Hoorah
A son of the deceased sire L7 Lucky Me and Donna Valley Poll Rachel, whose previous joinings have proven so exceptional. Hip-Hoorah has the makings of an out standing sire. Hip-Hoorah was Reserve Junior Champion Bull at Ekka in 2013 for his first time out. Hip-Hoorah was Senior and Grand Champion Bull and Supreme Exhibit at Canberra Royal 2014.
Our Wulfs Ridgley/Longreach Tango Son. A Polled sire, used extensively over heifers. His solid all-round figures have translated into excellent bodied female offspring.
Longreach Contestabull is an ET son of Longreach Sincerely Yours and Jockey. A bull with outstanding presence and eye appeal, every inch a show man. Frame with weight and depth, eye muscle of 150 cms at 30 months of age and a weight of 1125 kg. He has sired some noteworthy offspring already making a name in the show ring. His own show career was highlighted by his Supreme Limousin Exhibit awards at both Canberra Royal and EKKA in 2010, capping that with Champion of Champions in Canberra and standing 3rd in line for the same prestigious award at the EKKA.
The son of Birubi Evening Song winner of Interbreed Female at Sydney Royal in 2012. He shows exceptional carcase with calving ease from his sire and performance and power from his dam.With top 10% for calving ease direct and gestation. We look forward to seeing what he produces.
Son of SVL Polled Enterprise & Donna Valley Maxine, our current French sire, dubbed 'Max'. Registers a distinct French stamp on our herd.
